This calendar is hand-drawn digitally and crafted with much care and love.
The sources used are sustainable, the paper is beautifully recycled and you can run your fingers through the texture of each page. The body is hand-stitched and carefully binded. There are twelve botanical species used serving as an inspiration for each illustration. All of the details and the tables with dates are hand-written in a unique font. This custom calendar is a dear-to-my-heart project and I am grateful for the opportunity to carry it out.
It seems to be all about the details. Each hole has been pre-laser-cut and and then afterwards, hand-stitched with green thread and a needle. A total of 25 unique calendars were crafted in this one batch.
The essence of prototyping is what I re-learn every time I begin to think of a product. Testing, prototyping and more testing are the key to a successful product-making. Design through play, sketching and discovering the right forms.
The extra little bit of detail and care - also essential. Making it personal is a key element. In the first fold of the calendar I have included a little wish/greeting for the new year. The second finishing touch is the personalised packaging and the stickers "how to care for this calendar" and the greeting cards and custom stickers.
I present this project with great joy, as it took quite some planning and work. Each drawing was made with much attention to detail and the design process and realisation took their time.
The printing methods and the materials have been chosen with care for the environment. Below you will find all of the illustrations included in the calendar.
