Save The Planet is a series of educational tools focused on three environmental topics: The Ocean | The Rainforest | The Bees’ Life. Sustainability and protection of the environment were the origin points of my design concept, and are current issues that I am passionate about. To teach about the negative effects of plastic pollution and to suggest an alternative approach through interactive learning is the main aim of this project.
Logos for each book - O is for The Ocean | R is for The Rainforest | B is for The Bee's Life
The main idea was to create a piece which would affect behavioural change in society and would suggest alternative viewpoint to the conventional consumption which is harmful to the environment. Each learning tool consists of a pop-up interactive book which is hand written and illustrated and a craft set that suggests a hand-made task which is influenced by the story told in the book. Wrapped-up this all comes in a sustainable packaging that could be planted after it is used.
Each set includes: An illustrated pop-up book with a hand-written custom font, a sustainable packaging box, a letter with the main message printed on a special paper, inside which plants seeds have been incorporated, so that you can plant it and it will grow. Also, included are the craft materials for a DIY task that is inspired by the story inside the book and which also greatly enhances the learning process - also known as "thinking hands".

DESIGN CONCEPT | MANIFESTO
To educate children is essential, but to re-educate adults is just as important. Let us all be more aware of the world we live in and its crisis. Let us work together for a positive shift and a break of behavioural cycles.
This project was done in 2018 - 2019 as a diploma project for my degree qualification as a BA (Hons) Product Design, Ulster University in Belfast.
I am grateful for the thorough mentoring and brilliant navigation through the process of creating this final piece. Overall I am greatly satisfied with the outcome.
